Meet Timothy Starks a.k.a B.A.N.A The Barber, MSE April 2021 Artist of the Month! Born in Chicago, Illinois, B.A.N.A. began trying his hand at rap in middle school where he remembers fellow artists, Swagg 2X and Kay T doing the same at that time. He remembers his first rap name being Tim-Dog when he and Kay T along with another classmate did a remake to rapper Young Jeezy's "Trap Star".

B.A.N.A moved to Indiana in 2006 to be closer to family. In high school, he was exposed to other young artists, but it wasn't until after he got his first Mac Book after graduation that he began to take his art more seriously and actually record. During his college years at ISU, he became Yung BANA. After going home from college, B.A.N.A took an interest in cutting hair around the time of the birth of his son. This led to his name B.A.N.A The Barber.

After the tragic passing of his father and the birth of his daughter, B.A.N.A decided it was time to get back in the game. He wanted the opportunity to give his own children what he never had. He began to take his music, business, and promotions to the next level. B.A.N.A is an acronym for Be Awsum Not Average and B.A.N.A has lived up to his motto every step of the way.

On October 5, 2020, with the assistance of Leo W3st, he released his first single entitled "What's My Name?" and his life has been changed ever since! After doing many shows locally and around the United States, Awsum Music Entertainment LLC was born! His biggest influences have been his father, T.I., Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, and 50 Cent. His mission for his company is to provide opportunities for individuals and the community to outreach.

Be on the lookout for B.A.N.A's upcoming projects "Man of the Year", "Banamania", and "Brand New Bread"! B.A.N.A would like to give special thanks to His mother, best friend and producer (Akira), Oscar Da Don, Mr. King, and Leo W3st of Chicago Creed. He would also like to thank his fellow barbers at Future Fadez Barbershop in Merrillville, IN (Fitz Fonzarelli & Cartel Vell), Keisha "Kautiouz" Passmore, and last and most important MSE and Kim Baldwin for putting him in position to grind and reach his full potential through consistent artist development. He sends special thanks to all of his supporters that keep him motivated!
